The last CCTV footage of Oxford Brookes student Richard Okorogheye

Police searching for Richard, 19, who has been missing since leaving his home in Ladbroke Grove, on March 22, have recovered the body of a man from a pond in Epping Forest.

Richard’s family are being supported by specially trained officers and being kept updated with developments, the Metropolitan Police have said, as work continues to identify the body.

He travelled by bus in west London before taking a taxi to Loughton where he was last seen (above) on CCTV after getting out of the taxi near Epping Forest in Essex in the early hours of March 23rd.

Richard Okorogheye’s mother, Evidence Joel, had said her son had been “struggling to cope” with his business and IT degree and because of his sickle cell disease, would only leave home to go to hospital for regular blood transfusions.

She said police did not act quickly enough after he was reported missing.

Speaking last week after he had been missing for eight days, Evidence said: “I was told that Richard was an adult. He can make his decisions. He can go out and come back whenever he feels like. I need help. I need them to look for him for me.”

Police said they were “working around the clock to find him.”
