UK science chiefs say progress being made on Covid-19 vaccines but we need to control the virus spread

Sir Patrick said that there was good progress being made on vaccines with the possibility of one becoming available to certain vulnerable groups by this end of the year.

“In the meantime we have got to get in control of this,” he said during a live TV address to the nation.
