Body found in hunt for missing hen night mum Ruth Maquire

"The search for a missing 30 year old woman has been stood down following the discovery of a body of a woman in the water at Carlingford Lough this afternoon Monday the 18th of March 2019. "The body is believed to be that of missing woman Ruth Maguire. Garda’ wish to thank the public for their help in this instance, the help of the volunteers and the Coast Guard. No further assistance is required, " Gardia revealed. Reports say Ruth was seen on CCTV walking towards the water but was not seen waling back. A post mortem is due to be carried out. Ruth was out partying in Carlingford, Co Louth, when she vanished on Saturday at around 11.30pm. She became separated from the hen group after partying in Taaffe's bar in the town centre as they headed back to their accommodation, which was a five minute walk away. Ruth's friend Katrina OÕHare said the group realised she wasn't part of the group any more when they arrived back at the accommodation and the alarm was raised. The group began searching for her and discovered Ruth's phone was turned off and her coat was found in the bar. Her brother Ryan and her sister Rachel are currently in the village and her partner is due to come down again later today. See story...
